Side Gauge Tank Level\u00a0<\/strong>are\u00a0often\u00a0fitted on boats. The main disadvantages are that the user need to go to the\u00a0<\/span><\/span>engine\u00a0room or the location of the tank and open the control valves to check. It gives the user ball park of the\u00a0<\/span><\/span>amount\u00a0of fuel or water available.\u00a0Recommended addition of NMEA2000.<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/a>

Analog (Resistive) Tank Level Sensor <\/strong>are\u00a0often\u00a0fitted on older boats. Not very accurate and influenced greatly by the splashing of the liquid in the tank. We recommended conversion to NMEA2000 with <\/span>Six Analog Input Module<\/a> or upgrade to <\/span>Ultrasonic tank level sensor<\/a><\/p>

Ultrasonic tank level sensors<\/strong><\/a> are modern measurement device that uses ultrasound to send signal to the surface of the liquid \u00a0and calculate the time it takes the signal to return to the sensor. Our\u00a0ultrasonic sensors have an advanced long term compensating algorithm to account for changes from liquid slashing in the tank and preserve true readings. Best suitable with tanks that have access to the top. Can be used for Diesel Fuel, Fresh Water, Gray Water or Black Water tanks.\u00a0<\/p>

Pressure based \u00a0tank level sensors<\/a>:\u00a0<\/strong>Our pressure based tank level sensor have great accuracy and are atmospheric pressure compensated to avoid the changes in atmospheric pressure from affecting the true readings. Best suited for fuel tanks that have ports piped near the bottom of the tank. Avoid charing the port of the engine supply as the suction of fuel while the engine is running may affect the readings. Same applies to water tanks port that supplies the freshwater pump, while less critical as the water pump is not constantly running and the readings will return to true when the pump is off.<\/p>
